Ministries Within Our Church
Our parish is held together by the alms of our community. Below are some ways you can be an active participant in the life of the parish in addition to attending services.
Coffee Hour
Everyone is welcome to stay for coffee, food, and fellowship every Sunday following Divine Liturgy. If you would like to participate in bringing something for the meal, feel free to bring a dish to share. You can find the link for the schedule in the weekly bulletin. Meals are assigned by the first letter of your last name.
Women’s and Men’s Group
The women of St. Innocent meet on the second Tuesday of each month and the men meet on the third Thursday. Meetings are hosted at a group member’s home, or occasionally at church. These lively, informal gatherings help us to bond as brothers and sisters in Christ. To receive emails regarding the monthly meetings, please see Katrina or Subdeacon Gregory (Skip).
Church School
Our children meet for church school every Sunday following Divine Liturgy. We currently have a young class (ages 3-7) and a teen class. The young class cycles through three different sets of curricula: Old Testament, Gospels, and Church History. There is a craft activity that accompanies each lesson. The teen class follows a similar curriculum, interspersed with team bonding activities and guest speakers – typically clergy or other parish members. Both classes meet every Sunday, with breaks for Nativity, Pascha, and a ‘summer vacation.’ Please see Silas to be added to the email distributions or if you are interested in joining our group of teachers.
Choir
Our choir is made up of volunteer members of our parish. They meet 15 minutes before Divine Liturgy to practice, with occasional additional practices after. If you are interested in joining, please see our choir director, Reader Dan L.
Catechumen Class
Our catechumen class is open to anyone, from new inquirers to long-time practicers. If you want to learn more about Orthodoxy, this is the place to be. The class, led by our deacons, meets every Wednesday at 6pm at the church. Check the calendar on the church website for updates to the schedule.
Church Cleaning
General cleaning of the church occurs weekly after coffee hour, but deep cleaning is needed on a regular basis. This can be a big project so feel free to coordinate cleaning with another member of the church. You can find a link for the schedule and cleaning instructions in the weekly bulletin.
Flowers
Help beautify the church – bring flowers to one of our services. You can sign up for one date or join the monthly rotation. The link for the schedule can be found in the weekly bulletin.
Financial Giving
We have an offering box placed in the narthex/church entrance, and donations for candles or prosphora. Additionally, if you would like to participate in the Orthodox Christian practice of tithing, consider joining many members of the community as a monthly steward of the parish. Please speak to Fr. Seraphim for more information.
